System requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- A normal user-writable location for project and PDF files.
- Internet access for initial activation and periodic Gumroad validation, normally every 30 days.
- A valid RVParkCalc Gumroad license key.
RVParkCalc is a local Windows desktop application, not a hosted web application. Project calculations remain local desktop operations.
Setup or Portable
The customer package includes two Windows builds:
- Setup: run the setup program, follow the Windows prompts, and open RVParkCalc from its installed shortcut.
- Portable: place the executable in a stable folder and run it directly. Save project files separately in a backed-up location.
Both builds contain RVParkCalc v1.0.0 and use the same customer license.
First activation
- Connect the Windows computer to the internet and open RVParkCalc.
- Enter the license key supplied with the Gumroad purchase.
- Review the current RVParkCalc End User License Notice.
- Select the acceptance checkbox and activate.
- Confirm the licensed term and expiration information before beginning project work.
Activation and periodic validation use an encrypted HTTPS connection to Gumroad. The app stores an encrypted local activation record using Windows-protected storage. Project-file and report content are not sent as part of license validation.
License term and device activations
- One Gumroad purchase provides one 365-day term beginning at the original purchase timestamp.
- The purchase does not automatically renew. Continued use after expiration requires another purchase and activation of its new key.
- Delayed activation, reinstallation, deactivation, changing devices, or deleting local application data does not restart or extend the term.
- Each purchase permits up to three device activations unless the purchased quantity grants more.
- Deactivation and reinstallation do not reset Gumroad's activation-use count.
- Refunded, disputed, chargebacked, cancelled, or otherwise revoked purchases are not valid licenses.
Windows SmartScreen notice
The v1.0.0 binaries are unsigned, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show an unrecognized-app or reputation warning. Confirm that the file came from the RVParkCalc Gumroad purchase and verify the expected filename before proceeding.
Opening, saving, and recovering projects
RVParkCalc projects use the .rvp extension. Use File > Open, File > Save, or File > Save As to manage them. The app also stores a local recovery draft after edits, but this does not create a portable project file and is not a substitute for Save.
Back up both the .rvp file and its exported PDF. Use Save As for design alternatives and preserve older projects before major mode or distribution changes.
Common troubleshooting checks
- Confirm Windows is online and its date, time, and time zone are correct.
- Copy the complete RVParkCalc Gumroad key without leading or trailing spaces and accept the current license notice.
- If validation is requested, reconnect to the internet and retry. Project calculations and reports are not uploaded.
- If a secure-connection or proxy error appears, RVParkCalc uses the Windows system proxy and enterprise certificate trust. Ask the network administrator to permit HTTPS access to
api.gumroad.com; do not disable certificate or TLS validation. - If one project causes an error, preserve a copy, test a blank project, and send support the exact error and reproduction steps.
- If an unexpected recovered project opens, save it under a new name if it contains useful work, or use File > New Project.
- If PDF export fails, confirm the project has no fatal input error, choose a writable local folder, close an existing PDF with the same name, and retry.
- Review every warning and any older-file migration item before relying on calculations or exporting.
Professional-use notice: RVParkCalc is an informational calculation and documentation aid. It does not replace professional judgment or produce sealed, permit-ready, procurement-ready, or construction-ready documents. All project inputs, assumptions, calculations, selections, schedules, diagrams, and reports require independent project-specific review.
